Guy's Innovative Pharmacy

What is Pharmacy Compounding?

The art and science of compounding medicine allow us to create custom medications. Examples include dye-free, preservative-free, alcohol-free, and sugar-free forms of medications. It involves combining, mixing, and altering key ingredients to create a customized medication for an individual patient. To learn more about our ability to customize your meds, contact us, today.

What Types of Compounding Does Guy’s Pharmacy Offer?

At our McComb pharmacy location, we can compound medications for multiple types of patients and medical conditions. Our compounding solutions include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Customized oral medications
  • Topical preparations such as creams, ointments, and gels
  • Suppositories that can deliver medication to a specific location in the body.
  • Oral solutions and suspensions that are easy to swallow
  • Nasal sprays that deliver medication directly to the nasal passage.

In addition to our wide range of compounding solutions, Guy's Pharmacy also offers specialized compounding services for patients with specific needs.

Compounding for Autistic and Special Needs Patients

Guy's Pharmacy knows parents often have difficulty getting their children to take their medications. We also know that those difficulties can be even more challenging when your child lives with autism. Whatever your child's medications may be, it may take time and experimentation to find the form that works best for you.

Pediatric Compounding

Children can present several challenges when it comes to taking their medications. Some children may resist taking liquid medicine due to its taste. Some have difficulty swallowing pills. We can help your child's medicine go down easier by compounding medications into rapid-dissolving tablets, gummies, and even popsicles.

Veterinary Compounding

Of all the time we spend with our beloved pets, Guy's Pharmacy knows that medication time is among our least favorite. You can be sure that your pet shares this opinion. Veterinary medicine compounding may be a better way to medicate your pet.
